The Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra Sextet consists of Jennifer Tiede (alto saxophone), Lynne Hart (tenor saxophone & clarinet), Toni LeFebvre (trumpet), Alayna Ringsby (piano), Vivian Shanley (bass), and Farren Johnson (drums).
Founded in 2017, the Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra, which also operates as a full 18-piece big band, has met to perform across the state of Iowa with a purpose to showcase the artistry of women jazz musicians and inspire the next generation. The IWJO Sextet has appeared at the Iowa City Jazz Festival, RAGBRAI, and “First Friday Jazz” concert series presented by KCCK and Arts Iowa, among other events.
